Water Sports
Although a county set in the heartland of England, Northamptonshire has plenty of waterways, reservoirs and lakes to enjoy. Many are home to sailing clubs while others offer a wide range of watersports for the more casual visitor!
Boddington Reservoir
Operated by the Banbury Sailing Club, Boddington Reservoir is ideal for cruising, windsurfing and dingy racing. There are public open days and various courses are available.

Take the A361 to Byfield and you'll find the Reservoir about 1.5 miles from the second mini-roundabout.

Corby Boating Lake
Situated at Cottingham Road, Corby where you can hire boats for a day of relaxation.

Cosgrove Park
A private leisure complex offering wind surfing, water-skiing and jet-skiing activities. Situated in Cosgrove village, east of Stony Stratford off the A508, there are eight lakes available at the complex.

Cransley Reservoir
Primarily for members of Cransley Sailing Club, there are also public and youth Open Days available. Situated at Thorpe Malsor.

Grendon Lakes Water Ski Club
Facilities here include water skiing and wind surfing, a Club room, restaurant, bars and corporate hospitality. You'll find it east of Northampton at Main Road, Grendon, off either the A45 (Earls Barton turn) or the A509.

Hollowell Sailing Club
A 130 acre reservoir for sailing by Club members, there are also public Open Days and various sailing courses. Hollowell Club is situated on the top of the hill leaving Hollowell for Guilsborough off the A5199.

Middle Nene Sailing Club
Alongside the River Nene on the west bank of Thrapston Lake, the Middle Nene Sailing Club has a Clubhouse with refreshment counter, club room, lounge and licensed bar facilities. Canoeing and windsurfing are available along with a variety of sailing courses.

Middlemore Drayton Reservoir
Home of the Rugby Sailing Club and for their members' use there are also sailing courses and public Open Days. You'll find the reservoir two miles north of Daventry town centre on the A361 Ashby Road.

Naseby Sailing Club
Naseby Resevoir is 2 miles south of Welford on the A5199. Used for Naseby Sailing Club members with public Open Days.

Northampton Boat Club
The Northampton Boat Club is situated at Weston Mill Lane, Weston Favell, Northampton and facilities cater for beginners to advanced.

Northampton Rowing Club
This club provides courses for individuals from the age of 14 including women's sessions, men's squad training, rowing and sculling. It is situated on the River Nene, at Bedford Road, Northampton.

Northampton Sailing Club
The Northampton Sailing Club meet at Pitsford Water which can be found at the turning for Brixworth Country Park off the A508.

Various courses are available at the club in Far Cotton and can be adapted to suit individual needs.

Northamptonshire Schools Sailing and Canoeing Association
Term-time courses for Northamptonshire schools and the general public are available at Pitsford Water. Courses include dingy sailing, canoeing and windsurfing for adults and children (from 8 years of age). Ladies only courses and activity holiday weeks are available along with race training. The
